Webex Calling
Webex Calling is the cloud-based/next-generation version of the Cisco calling platform NKU has historically used. Over the 2024-2025 school year, NKU Telco will be transitioning faculty and staff to this new phone system.
In order to activate Webex Calling, you must visit https://www.webex.com/downloads.html to download the Webex app for your computer or mobile device.
During this transition phase, Webex DOES NOT support 4-digit dialing on outbound calls (this will be resolved once all NKU faculty/staff are switched over). Other NKU users will be able to dial in to you using a 4-digit extension, but you will need to dial other NKU extensions using the full 10-digit number.
The best way to reach other NKU users remains using Channel to Channel communication within Teams.

You can actually use Webex Calling within Teams! There is an app within Teams that adds a Webex Calling button within Teams.
Once you install the app and sign in with your NKU email address you will be able to use Webex Calling within Teams.
Once we have more people over on Webex Calling, the default Teams Calling button will be overwritten by the Webex Calling app and applied automatically.
The best way to reach other NKU users remains using direct communication in Teams.
