Note: There is a known issue that if a video quiz is left open for longer than an hour it can cause issue with student's submitting their responses so keep that in mind when making the length of the video.
-
To turn one of your Videos into a Quiz you will need to launch the video editor by going to Kaltura My Media and clicking the pencil icon to the right of the desired video. Then click Launch Editor.
-
Once inside the editor click on the quiz icon ( ) in the upper lefthand corner. Note: that this will duplicate your video so you will have a quiz version and a normal version.

Here is an explanation on the Quiz Editor screen:
A. Details – Here you can change the intro screen information that shows when you first hit play on the video quiz.
B. Scores – Here you can set up the rules regarding your answers and scores shown at the end of the quiz.
C. Experience – Here you can adjust the experience of the video quiz.
D. True/False – When creating the True/False question put the green checkmark on the correct answer in the question creation screen.
You can also click the Light bulb icon in the upper right to add a Hint and a Why.
The Hint is available on the question screen to view and the Why is available after submission of the answers. This is possible for both True/False questions as well as Multiple Choice
E. Multiple Choice – Enter your question and anywhere from 2-4 possible choices. By default the first answer will be the correct one so click the shuffle icon ( ) in the upper left to shuffle the possible choices.
F. Reflection Point – This tool is used to pause the video and pose a statement for the student to think about or call attention to a point made in the video.
G. Preview – This will allow you to do a test run through your video quiz while remaining inside the Video Quiz editor.
H. Question Icon - these icons show where a question is located along the timeline. By clicking the icon you can then edit a question you have already saved or move the icon along the timeline to change where it occurs within the video. Warning: do not put questions too close to one another as it can give the quiz issues with a chance to skip one.
-
Once you have finished your video quiz go to your Kaltura My Media page. You will notice two of the same video but one will have the added “ – Quiz” after it and have a quiz icon in the upper left of the thumbnail picture.
-
You can now add the quiz to wherever you like within your course the same way you would any Kaltura Video.
