This article explains the different wireless networks in NKU's Residential Village, the requirements to join each wireless network, as well as the access of each wireless network.

The main wireless network on campus, Norse_Net, extends to the Residential Village. If you already use Norse_Net on campus, you should automatically connect to it in the Residential Village. If not, you can connect to it using your NKU username and password.
Requirements
Norse_Net requires an active NKU account. When connecting to the Norse_Net, you will need to enter your NKU credentials to access the wireless network. If asked for a domain, enter "hh.nku.edu".
How to Connect
- Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device, then click or tap "Norse_Net".
- You will see a message asking if you wish to continue connecting. Click "Connect".
- Enter your NKU username and password.
- You will then be connected to Norse_Net.
NKU MyWifi allows you to set up a private wireless network for your room (and common areas within your building).
With NKU MyWifi, you can:
- Connect your wireless printer and game systems
- Stream from your phone to TV
Requirements
NKU MyWifi requires users to set up a private network, then connect their devices (such as game systems).
How to Set Up a Private Network
- Visit nku.campuswifi.net, tick the "Agree to Terms and Conditions" box, then log in with your NKU username and password
- Enter or generate a WPA2 password for your network.
- A QR code will be generated for devices with a camera and QR reader. Scan the QR code to securely onboard your devices. For devices without a camera, you will need to select the NKU MyWifi network on the device and enter the generated WPA2 Password to connect.
- A list of your connected devices will show on this page as well.
Norse_Guest is the recommended wireless network for any NKU guests, such as parents, friends of students, or vendors. NKU students can also use Norse_Guest if they cannot connect their device to the NKU Residential Wireless wireless network.
Access
Guest accounts will only have access to the Internet. The Norse_Guest wireless network grants NKU Faculty, Staff, and Students limited access to NKU internal services such as shared drives (J: and K: drives).
How to Connect
Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device.
Note: If you are connecting an iPhone or iPad, first tap the information icon for NORSE_GUEST. Turn off "Private Address".
- In the Wi-Fi settings on your device (an iPhone is shown here), and select "NORSE_GUEST".
