This article explains how to register a device to use on the Norse_Guest and Norse_Village Wi-Fi networks and the NKU Dorms wired network. This is required for all devices connecting to any of these networks. You must know the MAC address of the device to register a device manually. Devices connecting to the Norse_Net Wi-Fi network will not be required to complete this device registration.

When connecting a device to the Norse_Guest Wireless network, the device should automatically open https://netreg.nku.edu for device registration. When this occurs, you only need to sign into the web portal with your NKU credentials. If the device does not open NetReg automatically, you will need to follow how to Manually Add a Device below.
When connecting a device to the Norse_Village Wireless network, the device should automatically open https://netreg.nku.edu for device registration. When this occurs, you only need to sign into the web portal with your NKU credentials. If the device does not open NetReg automatically, you will need to follow how to Manually Add a Device below.
When connecting a device to the Dorms Wired network, the device must be manually registered following the Manually Add a Device instructions below. You can use the device that is being registered by connecting to the Dorms Wired network, or you can use a wireless device connected to any NKU wireless network.
If your device does not have a working web browser or does not open NetReg automatically, you will need to manually add the device.
- Go to https://netreg.nku.edu.
- Enter your NKU provided username and password. Read the terms and conditions and then select "I agree to the terms and conditions". Click "Sign On".
- Click "Yes, register additional devices."
- Enter the MAC address of the device you want to register in the Device ID field. The MAC address of the device can be in many different places depending on the type of device being registered. If you are unsure of how to find the MAC address of your device, you can Google "Find MAC address of" followed by the type of device that you are trying to connect. You must also give a Device Description which is only used by you to organize your devices. After filling both fields, click "Add".
- Complete step 4 for each device that needs to be registered. Once complete, hit "Save, Continue".
Any devices that have been registered should now be able to access Norse_Guest, Norse_Village, and the Dorms Wired network. If the device does not start receiving an Internet connection after a few minutes, try disconnecting and reconnecting the device to the network.
