NKU has limited licenses for Adobe Creative Cloud for faculty and staff. The license permits those faculty and staff whom need the Adobe titles for their position to have the software installed on any NKU owned computer and one personal (home) computer. There are additional licenses available for Acrobat Pro and Adobe Express.
To request access to Adobe software, please contact the IT Help Desk.
In this Article
- Go to the Adobe Creative Cloud website, then click "Sign In" in the top right corner. Enter your full NKU email address, then click "Continue".
- On the next screen, select "Company or School Account".
Note: If asked, select the NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY option after choosing Company or School.
- You will then be redirected to the NKU Single Sign On page. Use your NKU username and password to log in. If you were already signed in using another NKU service, you will be automatically logged in.
- Once logged in, click "Install Creative Cloud app" on the right side of the page.
- Once the Creative Cloud App is installed on your computer, you can access and install any Adobe product. Simply click the "Install" button for the product and the download will begin.
Adobe Firefly (EDU) Usage Limits
Adobe Firefly access in education environments is governed by generative credits, which are consumed when creating content such as images or text effects.
For EDU users, monthly credit allocations are based on license type:

Full Creative Cloud (student, faculty, staff): 1,000 generative credits per month

Acrobat or Adobe Express–only licenses: 250 generative credits per month
Generative credits reset each month and do not roll over.
Additional notes:

EDU licenses do not include access to premium Firefly features.

In some cases, users may receive a small number of complimentary credits to try premium features, but this is limited and not guaranteed.

Once all generative credits are used, additional Firefly generation is not available until the monthly reset.

At this time (subject to Adobe changes), Firefly Image Models 3 and 4 can be used without requiring premium credits (depending on generation, will use 1 credit).
