Accessing Minitab (Windows Install and Web App)

Follow the steps below to access the Minitab Licensing Portal, to access the Web version of Minitab and to Install it for Windows, using your NKU account.

Windows

1. Sign in to the Minitab Licensing Portal

Go to the Minitab Licensing Portal.

Enter your full NKU email address when prompted:

  • Faculty and staff: username@nku.edu
  • Students: username@mymail.nku.edu

Select Next and follow the prompts to sign in.

Important: Use your NKU email address, not a personal email account.

2. Download Minitab

After signing in, you should see your Minitab account page similar to the screenshot below.

Under Downloads, located in the middle of the bottom row, select the Downloads link.

The Downloads page should begin downloading the installer automatically.

Windows only: The desktop application is for Windows. Mac users should use the web version or a virtual machine if they do not have access to a Windows computer.

If the download does not start from the Minitab site, use the direct Minitab 22.5.1 Windows installer download (ZIP).

After the ZIP file downloads, unzip it and run the Minitab installer: minitab22.5.1.0setup.x64.exe

3. Install and activate Minitab

Follow the installer prompts. On the welcome screen, confirm the setup language and select Next.

When asked how you want to activate the software, select Activate with a license, and then select Next.

On the next screen, choose Sign in (this should be selected by default). Continue through the remaining prompts until the installation is complete.

4. Sign in to Minitab

After Minitab is installed, open the application. An Authentication Required window should appear.

Select Sign In. When prompted, use your full NKU email address:

  • Faculty and staff: use your @nku.edu address.
  • Students: use your @mymail.nku.edu address.

Complete the sign-in process to activate your NKU access to Minitab.

 

 

Other Devices

Due to the fact that the Minitab is a Windows only application, if you need to use it on a device other than a Windows computer, you will need to use the web version or a virtual machine via view.nku.edu.

 

1. Sign in to the Minitab Licensing Portal

Go to the Minitab Licensing Portal.

Enter your full NKU email address when prompted:

  • Faculty and staff: username@nku.edu
  • Students: username@mymail.nku.edu

Select Next and follow the prompts to sign in.

Important: Use your NKU email address, not a personal email account.

2. Access the Web App 

You may access the Web App by clicking on the Open Web App button in the page that opens:

This will open a new page, where you can access previously made files if you use the cloud storage or create a new Minitab file by using the following button:
